It's dumb, 20 years from now people will look back and think how that this is a great time period, how people think of the 70's now. I mean, it was an era back then. People who wish to live in the 50's or 60's or 70's and so call it the "golden era". The people who lived back then didn't think that, they called it LIFE. You'll see that kids growing up in the 2030's will look back to this decade as "the golden era" so people should stop complaining and live life. Because they shouldn't focus on living back then, but living life now. Honestly, it all because of the saying "The Grass looks Greener on the Other side." because to them, it does. When they get older they're gonna miss this time, and they should be focusing on whatever older time period they want.

think of it this way, if you look at gas prices they are around $3.00 a Gallon because we are losing oil supplies, thus we are complaining how bad things are. Oil prices are going to keep going up and when we are paying $5.00 a gallon for gas then we look back and say, "Oh... why was I complaining back then?"

It could because of That 70's Show. That was an awesome show, after all.

To the first forum that gave me a chance. Thank you. You will be missed.

No, just no. That has to do with economics.
People want to live in different time periods because it seems simpler. All they see is memorabilia from that age, when really the people there did not think of it that way. They didn't think of it as the best thing ever, they took it for granted. All it was, was just era. Some point in life.

Well, I'm from the future.

I came here in 2007 because I wished I lived in that time. It was one of the best years of gaming after all. But now my time machine broke so I can't go back. Darn it.....

I wasn't trying to be. I'm a vary serious person. You kind of have to be when you're from the future. So much war there....

It's hard not to wish we live in a different time. Then again, if you're smart, you'd wish teenage girls were smarter than the average shoe. With the media focus on fat fifteen year old girls combined with their tiny attention spans, this time will be remembered for garbage like this:

And don't get me started on everything else that's wrong with today's society.

I'm surprised you didn't put on Twilight, but you lose half of your brain cell count if you even think about it...

It is, indeed. It is, indeed..........

Also, I'd love to go back to different time periods because I can learn things from a first person point of view, and maybe meet The Beatles, Earth, Wind, and Fire, etc. Mainly for the music.

1) Today's prices on everything are at least 15 times higher than they were in the time periods people want to go back to.

2) The Great Depression-WWII generation is considered by the majority of historians as the toughest generation in the history of the United States. People want to live in those good old days.

3) Have you seen how our country has changed since Obama was put into office?

4) The age line for learning about sex, violence, and drugs is lowering every generation.

5) Border security issues have piled up sky-high.

Is that enough to explain why people want to (or actually try to) live in the past?
