Here are bits of my idea for a Sonic game:
-You play as Big the Cat for 99% of the game!
-Two hundred all new fishing stages!
-Dynamic rods that take damage!
-Fishing Shop: Buy new rods!
~Sonic Rod: Fast reel speed
~Tails Rod: Choose where your line lands
~Knuckles Rod: Extra strength, extra sturdy
~Shadow Rod: Fast reel speed (but cooler)
~Terrible Rod: Catch rate is incredibly low... but it never breaks
~Amazing Rod: Catch rate is incredibly high... but it breaks often
~And Many More!

my game would be sonic: the next generation and sonic would be king of mobius and have a son named nick who would be the player. the first zone would be mobius castle zone. the second would be portal zone*. the final boss will be perfect Tikaos. the enemies before the boss would be the dark presences dark hands.

I don't mean to bump this topic, but an opened ended Sonic game COULD work:

We've got such an awesome fanbase...

I would like an open ended game world, but I fear it might be too small, and get boring after a while.

Well? Bored, so I'm going to launch.

The game name would be... nevermind. Anyways, its gonna be TL to the point its gonna be a DR for you. I wanted it to feel a bit detailed and with a different approach. Its your normal 2D Sonic fangame idea with just Sonic, with S3 transitions and such. And the zones are.

"Rose Hills Zone"
Your typical green themed level, except that anything other than the 100% non-plastic natural grass is pink and filled with roses. Doesn't have anything to do with Amy, Robotnik just sent out his clusters of badniks. Eventually, the boss would be a rose that summons deadly gray roses. Transition, he speeds, but suddenly falls into a ravine.

"Dark Ravine Zone"
The pinky day of the Rose Hills are nowhere to be seen at this dark ravine. Sonic is surprised as he sees his badniks are nothing but Tails Dolls with different jobs. He can't feel the sunshine either, nor does he hear the word sunshine, nor does he remember Sonic R and/or the curse, cause he never believes in such things. Instead, he remembers his days at Labyrinth Zone, but with the darkness. A fully lit room, surprise, sir Robotnik is waiting with a machine that makes the room go dark if harmed and Sonic has to do the glowing outline before he strikes again. Suddenly, a water stream going up... He ends up in...

"Rusty Temples Zone"
A temple that looks old and rusty. He founds many EggRobos, with machines from his past adventures. Except that they're weaker and just survive for two hits. Sonic feels that he went through this area before. He finds it a mix between Marble Zone and Hydrocity Zone but without water. AWESOME! His boss is in the water, surprisingly. Or so he thinks as the flames comes from Robotnik's machine, underwater. Suddenly realizing that's not water, but a large. He must go to the other side of the window and fight. He speeds off, and finds an earthquake. Turns into a lava burst, and his simple piece of lands flies to...

"Burning Sands Zone"
A desert that is burning due to the massive lava that just spewed over it. Did Robotnik cause it or not, is what circles Sonic as he speeds through it. He meet weird creatures, upon later inspection they are fiery bubbles. Not the ones that just float in their place, they move. There are also ones with legs, and who else Sonic expects? He makes it to Robotnik. He made a machine that spits lava. After Sonic beats it, the screen flashes white and the desert is back to normal. Now he finds a buggy, and drives it.

"Egg Desert Zone"
Sonic looks at the map included in the buggy, and the desert is in fact egg shaped. He looks to even see two big eyes and a mustache, so Robotnik is once again playing and its up to Sonic to... leave the buggy and get to a snowboard. He is now sliding through quicksand and must avoid enemies, but eventually gets back to solid ground where he speeds off and finds the usual badniks, cacti that put out spikes depending on where is Sonic, and walking cacti, plus floating cacti. And the boss is a cacti shooting spikes. Sonic looks at the map again, and realizes he is at the mustache and eyes. Looks ahead of him to find three large buildings shaped like that. Why in the middle of desert, it puzzles him. He finds the door opening, and well...

"Sandy Fortress Zone"
Sonic found a fortress in the middle of the desert, how wonderful. He finds ducks that spits eggs, that boom during contact. Snakes that chase Sonic whenever he is on its ground. The guardian badniks like flying turrets.. Eventually he makes it to the middle, and there are lotsa oil that launches a rocket up to space. With no encounters, Sonic rides it, and what is gonna meet?

"Robotic Rocket Zone"
Finally flying, he must make his way up to the spacecraft the rocket's holding, as Sonic thinks so. So he does, by surviving each stage of the rocket till he made it to the last. Robo Sonics with missiles spit out, the floating thing that cannot be harmed, and the encounter with Eggman is just one hit in his usual machine he always uses. The last zone awaits Sonic as he just saw there is no spacecraft and the rocket had no stages at all. A stairs popping out from the middle of the rocket!

"Metal Egg Zone"
At last the final zone. He has to fight the flaming bubbles again, some jumping ball badniks, evade the cruelty of the changing gravity. He even runs sideways on the screens this time. He may even float like zero gravity. At last he meets the final boss. Robotnik uses a so huge robot, only its legs are seen on the screen after it rises up. Turns out its a large but more deadlier version of the Death Egg Robot with new additions. Sonic hits the legs first, so they get destroyed. Now the robot floats, the body is now using spikes, bombs, and even some EggRobo badniks to fight off Sonic. After the body is down, the head gonna send out two lasers at him, Sonic has to dodge them, and homing missiles coming to him. Sonic beats the head, and so Robotnik gets defeated, and you know the rest. Except the Rose Hills Zone are more colorful, adorable animals are now back, and victory.

I would make a Sonic game where you play as Aym Spaget Leg and you have to touch people with your floppy leg. There is a time limit and the maps get more complicated mazes each level. Everyone runs from you. If you win, your leg swells and you run off into the sunset.

Better than Sonic 06.

The sound effects of the leg will be the main focus during development. There will be over 600 unique squishy sounds which change depending on how fast you're going, what level you're on, whether or not you are close to winning, and so on.

Now we just have to think of a title.

Wait, why is the master emerald shrine in Green Hill? Also, whenever Sonic got one of those chaos emeralds, the chime sounds like the beginning of the Super Mario Bros. Theme.




As for my own idea, I'm gonna go with the somewhat obvious route and throw in the idea for a Knuckles game. I'm working on ideas, and will edit this post when I get a few alright ones.

If I could make a game, it'd probably be a refined modern sonic game but with Sonic Adventure-like stages. That way you could use the speed from modern games in a more free area.

Also, when the game switches to 2D, you would control Sonic like the classics.So it's all in one, really.
