[Suggestion] Mentors?

Mentors
With more new members joining it's becoming increasingly difficult to give them the personal attention they deserve. Some of you have already been doing a fantastic job in helping these new people, so I'd like to suggest a special member role with a little more responsibility. Though the staff are a very friendly and approachable bunch, new members aren't necessarily aware of that. I think they might find it easier to seek advice from fellow members. Mentors will act as a bridge between new members and staff, smaller things can be dealt with within the team, problems can be relayed to the team leaders.

Mentors will be responsible for:

• Welcoming new members
  
• Answering any questions they might have
  
• Offering advice
  
• Helping to run a "New Members" group
  

I'm not suggesting "mini mods" to point out errors, though offering advise privately in a constructive and helpful manner would be just fine *insert admin or mod or user you choose to be leading mentor here* will be heading up this team. He will be responsible for running this group and will approve all join requests. If you're a mature and helpful member and you believe you would be a good role model for new members then request to join by sending a PM to *group leader name go here*. Members joining this group could get a special user title "mentor" so new members now who to ask.

So what do you guys think?

I think this is an okay idea. Sure the concept is nice, but the problem is quantity. Not everyone will want to be a mentor, and people who want some may not know where to get it, or get the attention they need. Though personally I could handle a lot of people at once, no problem. Up to 30 users probably. I could be a multi mentor.

Well, That's the point of having mentor under there name as a title and a mentor group. So they can just see from that and ask.
The joining though, we'll have to see about that since were not sure how many users here would want to be a mentor...

This might be a fallback for people who become unemployed from Zezzy's great mod/admin cleansing.

This sounds like an alright idea. I wouldn't mind being a mentor.

Nah I didn't say that justsharing on some insight on how we don't want clones of ourselves ^^on the note of the mentors I would be happy to ceate some new Role-playing partners ^^ its been my dream to teach people how to RP and create FCs ^^

And just so you know, I would like to be one if this idea get's passed.

As would I, I feel that I can make somewhat of a good mentor for the newer members.

Anyone can be a mentor I would assume and teach a certain amount of new commers each one of their own talents.

No, the Group leader (me, a mod, an admin) will decide if I member is good enough after the user asking to be a mentor pm's the leader saying why he should be a mentor.

Thats the most gayest thing ever. Why have a group when you could easily just have about 5 new commers each and have about 10 mentors. Or have your own dojo as Zezima (my loving little bro who hopefully will back me up on this plan) said. I say let me lead this project. I'll put forth this idea in a PM to Zezima.

Well Shadow, a group will give mentors a certain name color making them faster to find. Also, Just input your idea on this topic since all the members in this site must agree if they like it as well. Also, I really don't think Mentors should get there own forum... Good idea though.
This is up to zezima if he likes my idea and makes mentors.
Also, I made a application you have to fill out to become one.
Also to your "Let me lead" thing, we still don't know who shall lead the mentors, it could be you, it could be me, it could be an admin or mod, it could be zezima, it could be anyone Zezima thinks is good enough.

I think we should have them, mostly for the new users asking questions and welcoming them.

1. What is your join date? We prefer older more experienced user as mentors.
2. Have you been banned before? Mentors should be rule following good citizens.
3. Have you ever gotten in a flame war before? Mentors are gonna have to help people, we wouldn't want members who will fight we new user asking for help would we?
4. How active are you? There gonna have to help new users, so there gonna have to be able to replay to New User qustions.
5. What's your post count? Same as # 4
6. Why do you think you should be a mentor? Post reasons and your traits that would make you a good Mentor.

Feel free to suggest things or change some things.

But have over 250 post.
And havent gotton banned.

See now I don't believe in that. I believe we should have our own topics and have new commers or anyone who wants to learn what that certain mentor is teaching join that certain topic.

No, we don't need a group. Everyone is free to do that already.

I don't really like the concept in the first place, anyways.
