I enjoyed it at first, but slowly I began to realize just how many mistakes were in this game...
First, the boards were very, very, very big, so one single game could take hours to complete. Second, the AI played dirty, even on Easy mode. They would draw exactly the cards they needed at exactly the rights times and stick you with the worthless ones (though I did like the card system for movement--gives a good strategy element--but it was botched by the evil AI. I also suddenly got a speed boost that tripled my card value and sent my careening directly over the space that I wanted!). Third, a lot of the minigames weren't self-explanatory; one some of them I found myself scrambling to do the right thing even after reading the instructions. Fourth and final...the characters looked downright hideous in cel-shading (at least in-game, in the opening cinematic they looked beautiful).
I admit that it doesn't take much to impress me, but Sonic Shuffle really didn't do the job. I'm sorry, but it's not for me. I know there are bad Sonic games that even I won't be caught dead next to, and Shuffle unfortunately, is one of them.
