everyone knows the werehog right?

well, sega have officially said that the werehog WILL return!!


i actually liked the werehog, but many of the people didn't...

whats your say on it? did you like the werehog?, and do you think this is a good decision or not?

This news is quite old. I'm not sure if it was officialy announced, but I think it was hinted. I really wouldn't care, cause I liked the Werehog. Not a good decision, Sonic will get bashed more than he already does.

I hate the werehog idea. Hated it when I first heard it and hate it now.

Way to f**k up Sonic even more, Sega....

That was a long time ago, because the team wanted to flesh out its gameplay dynamics a little more.

Ideally, I would reserve the Werehog for a completely separate game.

OMG, please don't bring the Werehog back!

What reason other than making money could you be thinking of when you consider bringing back this atrocious idea back into Sonic games? It was bad enough back then, and I clearly don't want it to stay for future games. You know, that is the main beef that I have with the franchise right now. The overwhelming emphasis on using gimmicks in order to progress your storylines. I'm not calling for a SA3, though that would be great, but clearly it's time for Sonic to get back into the main series. SEGA, you need to give this non-canon, over the top, and overused gimmicky roller coaster rides of games a rest. What's happening to the main series now?

I expected (or at least hoped) people would act mature about hearing something like this when I went brousing all over.

Like consider whether or not it truly is official. Take into account what the werehog's "reappearance" might actually be in relation to the Sonic games ahead. Whether or not any of you consider it a good or bad idea based on the right reasons instead of silly petty ones that shouldn't effect how the game is played or what-not.

Seriously, I hope no one acts like they usually do when they think of the Sonic series when they hear about a werehog. They think that the idea itself will cause major failure just for being an idea rather then how it plays or whether or not there is room for improvement.

Or even whether or not you know if it will be improved or not.

I'll reframe from sheer negativity on this incredibly old news until I find out more and actually experience what needs to be experienced before making a decision. I guess it's an opinion on whether or not it's a good idea or not but it certainly fits the series for what it is more then anything from a game like Sonic Next-gen.

I think I heard about that before. Anyway, I actually enjoyed the Werehog. (At least in the 360 version) so I guess if it's improed a bit, I won't mind seeing it return.

I don't remember people complaining about the return of treasure hunting in Adventure 2, and that sucked. If this is true, I'll be proud to call myself a Sonic fan. Why? Because it shows that Sega's not going to throw away a fun and functional gameplay idea just because people called it a rip-off of a crappy action game.

I Like the werehog, Loved sonic better thou XD. But if the next game is anything like unleashed, like still on the Hedgehog engine, and with Sonic's speed levels. It will be awesome!

Ahh awesome, this is great news! =D As much as I hate Sonic Unleashed, I really like the Werehog idea, I think it's a very interesting take on Sonic, I'm so glad to hear he's coming back! Lets just hope next time he's a bit faster in whatever game he's gonna be in.

And the Werehog isn't a really bad idea.....it just doesn't belong in a Sonic game.

I just noticed the date on this after I nearly suffered a heart attack. Why must you scare me like that? Anyways, I hope the Werehog never comes back into the mainstream Sonic games. I wouldn't really mind him appearing in easter eggs and spin off titles, but gameplay so different from Sonic's main gameplay style shouldn't be present in a Sonic game IMO.

Anyway, I'm with SRZ on the werehog opinion, but I do want to see a refined version of that gameplay return for Ristar. 8)
