It all started in the beginning of time, during the creation of a planet called “Earth”. When it was being created, some of its geologic features were eventually copied & used for another planet in a parallel universe. On that planet, animals had human intelligence and features. While it had no true name, some referred to it as “Alius Humus” Latin for “another Earth”, while others called it “Mobius” for it’s peculiar features that resembled mobius strips. Both planets lived unaware of each other’s existence. That is where the story begins…
In the year 2020, the human population has increased rapidly, & scientists have been trying to find a solution to the problem. One such solution was to create another planet with Earth’s features for humans to live on. So scientists began searching around the world, studying Earth’s many landscapes, & researching the process to create a planet. During the search, a peculiar gem was found in a desert & was used to power a machine for creating another planet. Unknown to the scientists, it was a Chaos Emerald. One of 7 powerful gems that had unimaginable powers between time & space. When the process for creating another planet began, the Chaos Emeralds on Mobius/Alius Humus reacted to the Chaos Emerald on Earth, & by accident, the two planets merged together by the power of Chaos Control.
When the two planets merged together, the planet grew bigger, the geological features of each planet fused together, more lands were formed. Some of the animals became mutated by the features of Mobius/Alius Humus and became humanoid animals themselves. Earth was now almost as large as Jupiter. The inhabitants of each planet now had to get used to the new world that had been formed. There was a large debate on how the world was changed, some thought that the plan for a new planet accidentally added new geological landscapes on Earth, while others assumed that the planet was evolving. However, an intelligent man by the name of Dr. Ivo Julian Robotnik, who had an impressive IQ of 300, made a conference speech about how the world changed with his nephew Snively as his assistant.
Ivo admitted that he was involved with the project to create a new Earth. He even used the Chaos Emerald in the machine to prove his theories during the speech. He described how Chaos Control worked, the power of the Chaos Emeralds, the planet Alius Humus/Mobius, & concluded by saying that he hoped for all living creatures to live in peace someday.
Ivo was a tall man with an odd looking mustache that looked like zigzags, a pink nose, and an egg shaped body which made some people call him “the Eggman“. His nephew Snively was short, bald, and had a big nose. Ivo became more curious about the Chaos Emeralds & decided to research them to see if they could bring peace to the world. He had began to worry that humans & animals alike would try & seize control of the planet & erupt into a deadly war, so he hoped that he could use the Chaos Emeralds to bring peace. However, he found out that the Chaos Emeralds would eventually scatter across the many parts of the planet after all 7 were brought together.
Both Ivo & Snively knew that it would be difficult trying to find all seven emeralds across the world, but Ivo was determined to find them. So they searched many parts of the world, far & near, hoping that they could find a Chaos Emerald. Then, one day when they were exploring Christmas Island, they found a peculiar brown hedgehog running really fast across the island. They became curious, & hoped that they could use his help to find the emeralds.
The young hedgehog was a little shy, but he introduced himself as Nicky Parlouzer, an orphaned hedgehog who lived on Christmas Island his whole life, & got mutated when the planets merged together. Ivo became sympathetic for Nicky, & wanted to make him feel better. He let him come with him on the condition that he help search for the Chaos Emeralds. Ivo created a treadmill that would increase his speed. However, during the process, Nicky broke the sound barrier by creating a sonic boom, and his fur color changed to blue. Nicky eventually adopted the nickname “Sonic the Hedgehog”.
Sonic began helping Ivo find the Chaos Emeralds by using his supersonic speed to run around the globe. Ivo & Snively assisted Sonic by telling him when a Chaos Emerald reacted to another emerald. Sonic was amazed by how fast he could run, & enjoyed being able to see new sites & wonders of the world. Sonic eventually had deep feelings for Robotnik, as he never had a lot of friends during his life & felt that Ivo was his first true friend.
After a few days, all 7 Chaos Emeralds were found. Sonic was relived to finally be able to have a rest after all that hunting. The process for extracting all the evil on Earth began. The world temporarily froze as all the evil of the planet was being sucked into the machine. Ivo began making a hard boiled egg to have for lunch, but he didn’t realize it was expired. Soon, all the evil on Earth was inside the machine, & Ivo began trying to destroy it. His hard boiled egg accidentally spilt on the machine, causing most of the evil energy to accidentally fall into Robotnik’s soul, causing a maniacal alter ego to awaken inside of him. Snively & Sonic stood in fear as evil returned to Earth & Ivo became a mad scientist who wanted to conquer the world, using his regular name Dr. Ivo Julian Robotnik, but also assuming the identity of “Dr. Eggman“.
Sonic ran away in fear, & Snively became the lackey for his uncle. Soon afterwards, Eggman/Robotnik began building the oddest robots, planning out ideas for weapons of mass destruction, and bent on trying to capture Sonic. Such machines he built were tall, humanoid robots he dubbed “SWATbots”, funny looking robots that resembled Eggman/Robotnik called “Egg Pawns”, & all sorts of weird creations. All of Eggman’s henchmen called him Robotnik-sama or Eggman-sama.
Sonic had felt depressed ever since the accident, he felt deep for Ivo, & wanted to defeat evil Robotnik/Eggman to avenge his old friend. He began a new life where he would explore the world on his own. It came to him that Eggman/Robotnik would eventually take over the rest of the world, so he vowed to protect it at all costs. He eventually decided to venture off to South Island for a vacation, but one day, he ran into a peculiar group of animals looking sad.
They introduced themselves to Sonic, and explained that Eggman/Robotnik had conquered their land of “Mobotropolis” and renamed it “Robotropolis” as the base for his “Eggman Empire“. Eggman/Robotnik also used the animals he captured as power sources for his robots. A female squirrel named Sally Acorn also explained that Eggman had captured her father, the king of their land, and executed him. Some of her friends were Rotor the Walrus, a mechanical genius, Bunnie Rabbot, a female rabbit who had part of her body crushed and replaced with mechanical limbs, Elias Acorn, brother of Sally with a bushy fox-like tail & the heir to the throne of his father, and Antoine D‘Coolette, a French coyote dressed in a solider uniform. Sonic helped them along with other animals that survived Eggman’s attack form a group of Freedom Fighters in a base called “Knothole“.
The Freedom Fighters began making plans to stop Eggman from taking over the rest of the planet, and to free their comrades. Much to the surprise of most of the Freedom Fighters, Sonic was normally nowhere around Knothole. Sonic was always running around the island looking for adventure. One day, Robotnik showed himself to the citizens of Knothole, declaring that all survivors will have their life force used to power his machines for eternity. He showed a Chaos Emerald to them, declaring that once he has all 7 emeralds, he will be able to destroy Knothole. Robotnik/Eggman then sent out his army of robots and captured most of the survivors. Sonic eventually ran after Eggman/Robotnik, attempting to stop his plans.
Sonic knew that the only way to stop Eggman/Robotnik now was to find the Chaos Emeralds before he did. Sonic kept following Robotnik/Eggman knowing he was looking for the emeralds. He ran through the whole island, destroying any of Eggman’s robots that got in his way. Along the way, he discovered a large golden ring, which was a portal to another realm. Sonic jumped in, and went through all obstacles before he found a Chaos Emerald. He eventually confronted Robotnik/Eggman & Snively, piloting a strange device with a giant ball attached to it. Sonic was getting brutally beaten up when he discovered another ring, only this one was small and when Sonic grabbed it, he curled into a ball and defeated Eggman/Robotnik.
So Sonic went across many islands, going through the ring portals, defeating Eggman/Robotnik & Snively always in a different machine, and collecting Chaos Emeralds. Then finally, he reached one of Eggman/Robotnik’s headquarters known as “Scrap Brain”. It was not easy getting through Scrap Brain, as Eggman set up all kinds of traps for him. Sonic was tired out as he finally found the sixth emerald.
He eventually made it into Eggman/Robotnik’s base, where Robotnik/Eggman and Snively were waiting for him. Sonic attempted to free the kidnapped animals, but Eggman/Robotnik trapped him in a tube container as he began draining the energy in the Chaos Emeralds to power his newly made device, the “Egglipse Cannon“. Sonic passed out, and the Chaos Emeralds lay on the floor, looking like a bunch of colorless stones.
Sonic was eventually confronted by the ghost of the old Eggman, although he told Sonic to call him “Ovi Kintobor” to prevent confusion from the current Robotnik/Eggman. Ovi freed the Freedom Fighters who eventually freed Sonic. Sonic thought all hope was lost as he looked down at the lifeless Chaos Emeralds.
Sonic learned from Ovi that Eggman/Robotnik merely drained the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds to power his Eggclipse Cannon and the positive energy of the emeralds was still inside of them. Ovi encouraged Sonic that as long as there’s positive energy, the Chaos Emeralds will never lose their glow. The emeralds started glowing, and they all swirled around Sonic. The Freedom Fighters watched in amaze as Sonic’s fur color turned gold, his quills stranded upward, and his eyes turned red. He eventually dubbed himself as “Super Sonic”.
Robotnik/Eggman and Snively were powering the cannon, ready to use it for world domination, when Super Sonic flew by them, and ran through parts of the cannon, causing it to collapse. The cannon merely shattered, revealing a giant robot called the “Eggsterminator”. It was an epic face-off between the positive and negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds. Super Sonic eventually crashed into the core of the eggsterminator, causing it to fall into oblivion. However, Eggman/Robotnik & Snively managed to escape, with Eggman/Robotnik swearing vengeance. Super Sonic than used the power of the Chaos Emeralds to bring life back to the land.
Back at Knothole, there was a huge celebration honoring Sonic’s bravery. Sonic was eventually knighted as an honorary Freedom Fighter. Elias was eventually proclaimed the leader of the Freedom Fighters. Sonic eventually decided to leave Knothole & explore the rest of the world while trying to prevent Eggman/Robotnik from conquering the rest of the planet.
Sonic now wanders the planet as a free spirit, embodying the wind. Back in Knothole, a painting of him was made honoring his deeds. Eggman/Robotnik was always planning to capture Sonic so he never interfered with his plans again. More adventures to come…
