To be honest I think there should be romance and for 18+ only there should be a mature Sonic cartoon introduced by non other than Sega.

In anime, I like romance. But I don't Sonic has the... mood or atmosphere to make a good love story.

I was being sarcastic.
If you get turned on by cartoon hedgehogs making love, you need help.

You need help since that does not actually turn me on.

Mature Sonic cartoon with Sonic having romantic plotlines, but with mature overtones such as sex, possible drugs, and social problems?
Why does this sound like Robert Crumb's possible direction for the Sonic franchise? And if it happens, please tell me immediately. Fritz the Cat was a beautiful example that cartoons featuring anthropomorphic characters don't have to be kiddish and happy go lucky. Instead of using the basic philosophy of most cartoons, Mr. Crumb presented us a realistic world of drugs, sluts, relationship problems, swearing by the bucketload, and tons and tons of pervertedness.
Sounds cool... But only as a one time thing. As it is, I prefer Sonic being a property aimed at kids and teenagers. But what I don't appreciate is the deterioration of Sonic's very character, the brilliant plots of Sonic 3 & Knuckles and the Adventure series, and the overall anime feel to the franchise. The 90s Sonic needs to come back and show new school Sonic how it's done.

No. *epic facepalm*
Sonic is catered to children and teenagers. Overwhelming doses of romantic themes and other mature themes wouldn't win over people. The media reaction to it would be immensely negative. The official Sonic series needs to stay true to what it does right now.
