First, I don't understand why the other topic was closed, and if you, the mods and admins, are going to lock this or ban me for it, then so be it. I am not trying to anger anyone. I simply feel like these are important happenings that people need to know about. And some people would otherwise ignore stuff like this until it's too late and actually affecting them in their daily lives.
Obama's health care plan has been approved in the House and has moved to the Senate for debate. The version that was approved in the House includes things like allowing the government to throw people in JAIL if they end up refusing to buy the Government's plan.
Firstly I think that violates some parts of the Bill of Rights, specifically the 5th amendment, which states that "No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law."
Second, even if you DO start throwing all the protesters in jail, American jails are overcrowded as it is. What are we going to do, release some serial r*pists and murderers to make room for people who just want to control their own lives instead of letting the Government control them?
Third, LOOK AT MEDICARE AND MEDICADE, two government run health care organizations. They show the government's "amazing" track record for running programs like that. Both over budget and terribly messy and not well organized at ALL.
And there are probably more aspects that I can't think of at the moment. But the Government is one step closer to controlling the lives of all American citizens.
