Seperate introductions from departures?

Should a separate forum be created for departures instead of a single forum housing all familiarity topics? I personally believe it would cause less confusion if there was a separate forum for users who are leaving instead of in a forum titled "New Member". So, what are your thoughts on this? Input is appreciated.

No one ever reads the departure threads anyway. Or at least I don't. Either way, there's no point in cluttering up the forum with an extra category that will rarely be used.

Any departure threads should be considered spam.

If it's only temporary, just update your signature or something to say "I'm on vacation, I'll be back on May 4", there's no need to make a thread about yourself that you won't even participate in. If it's an angry "I quit" departure, well, nothing good can possibly come from that.

Unless you're a member of staff, you shouldn't really create a topic cause you are leaving- IMO.... esp. if it's temporary.

The reason for that is because leaving threads are a joke. Whenever someone says they're leaving they always come back like a week or a day later. I've done it, and almost everyone else has too. I think we've all learned that it's pointless.

I don't think that we need to separate the inductions from the departures. The current system seems to work well; we should keep with it for the time being.

Rename the forum: Comings and Goings.

I say we only have a thread like SEGA and other places.

And if a staff member leaves for whatever reason, it becomes a site wide issue, so a thread should be made.

Keep the forum as it is, Zezima. Both introductions and departures should be kept in the same forum. Also, leaving threads are very much pointless. We have a PM system where a member can just tell an admin or a mod that he/she's leaving. Intro threads serve their purpose and the name "New Member" should be kept as the forum name.

Just rename the forum.
