Going back on topic: I actually prefer pie simply because there is a much larger variety of flavours available than many other types of desserts hold. My favourite would have to be lemon maringue pie.

I dunno, but I absolutely prefer pie to cake. Much sweeter, easier to eat, filled with fruit(albeit not in a very healthy way once incorporated into the pie), and with an absolutely huge variety of flavors, I just prefer it imo. Now my opinion may change though if it's really good cake, or a really good cupcake(or muffin for that matter).
