Franchise changing news coming this Thursday from SEGA

Jason Griffith is quitting? It'd be nice to have a new actor by now.

Unfortunately, they could not find a new voice, so they have decided to use Rouge's voice actor.

That sounds like some bad news. Hopefully they aren't considering Ryan Drummond again.

Hmmmm..................... Well, a new voice actor for Sonic is hardly "franchise changing", since they've already had about 47 of them...

Jason Griffith is quitting? This is disastrous news indeed. Jason Griffith was always renowned for his ability to act as Sonic very well. I doubt there is any other actor who can top his efforts, and, as Erazor mentioned, I hope they are not considering Ryan Drummond or anyone else like him again.

It is a possibility, but at the current moment, this can only be deemed as a rumour until it is legitimately confirmed by a respectable source, or SEGA itself.

You've got a point, Miles. Renowned and famous (among forums) though the Sonic Stadium might be, they are not the official staff of SEGA itself, and there lies the possibility that the hype has gone overboard, and that Jason Griffiths is not really quitting.

Although I think that he is still quitting, but I'm just saying that it's not yet set in stone.

But I think that Jason Griffith is quite a good actor. He was quite cool, and he's overall improved the Sonic Franchise.

That's true, but Jason Griffith was slightly better at the voice acting than Ryan Drummond.

Ryan wasn't bad. I don't recall him being flawed at all.
Jason was good too, he just had bad direction.

I think it's the other way around. It doesn't really matter though, neither were terrific.

I don't know what to say. The person that voiced Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 5 and Ezio in Assassin's Creed is going to be voicing Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but it sure is awesome.

Here're the two VA's mentioned. Try to pick out which voice you think should be Sonic or Tails.

This is Smith.

This is Higgins.

I would prefer Smith to be the voice actor. He sounds more realistic as a Sonic Voice Actor, and he also sounds more like Sonic than Higgins does (and also Higgins sounds a little too childish to be a Sonic Voice Actor, from what I heard in the recording).

You misunderstand me. Smith is Sonic's new VA. Higgins is Tails' new VA.
