Nintendo 3DS delivers 3D video playback capability, 3D photography AND 3D display of those pictures.

30 games will be released for the 3DS in North America by E3 2011; 25 in Europe.

Friend codes suck less; There's one universal code for each console, which works with all games.

Nintendo 3DS can act as a pedometer. Earn Play Coins & trade them in for new content in compatible games and applications.

Face Raiders is a pre-installed game that’s built by taking your own picture and inserting it into a shooting gallery, of sorts.

More Software coming with the system: Activity Log application that tracks movement and virtual action, The games you're playing, and for how long, and the aforementioned pedometer.

Not one, not two...but six AR (augmented-reality) cards. View AR cards through the 2 outer 3DS cameras and games sprout up in 3D!

Nintendo 3DS will also feature an enhanced Internet browser and a 3D video player for pre-produced content.

the 3DS version of virtual console includes demos and videos, and is overall more streamlined

European retailers can name their price on the system, most of them are inflating it to murderous proportions.

The system will have an instant messaging ability of some sort, but PIctochat got killed off.

The rumors of Pikmin 3DS are FALSE, it's not coming, sadly.

Nintendo points are no more, you're going to use actual money for the shop now.

Everything sounds awesome except for changing from a charging cable to a charging cradle. Whether I hate or like it depends on if you can still easily play the thing while it's charging. I'm very happy about the $50 price drop however, along with everything else.

BTW, the image seems to be showing up as a black square for some reason.

Anyhow, you probably can't, seeing as how on maximum brightness the battery takes longer to charge than the actual battery life.

Sounds great, but it's still expensive. It's like buying a Wii.

It's more expensive than the Wii.


More powerful, as well; it's almost as strong as a 360, some sources say.
For comparison, Resident Evil on 360, and a prerelease RE on the 3ds.

In addition, a smaller screen with lower resolution eliminates the need for large aounts of anti-aliasing, and cartridges are read much faster than discs.

I'll probably have to wait 'till Christmas to get it. But Zelda's looking sweet.

I'm getting it. I prefer handhelds over consoles anyway. I think the Wiimote is kind of dumb.

Fair enough. I'm one of those people who believe gaming was better in the 90s.
It's not THAT stupid, really. It just doesn't really have enough buttons to keep up with the "advanced" games o' today.

I agree, once again. It's just that now that we're at the modern day, I'd rather have 3D gaming (just not these stupid gun games).

But I enjoyed gaming in the 90's much more as well.

Only 900000 units? That's not very much..

But those are good launch games. Particularly ones like Ghost Recon.

US has some games for pre-order at various places.

Walmart is listing games like Dead or Alive, Street Fighter, Monkey Ball, Samurai Warriors and RE Mercenaries for 40$.
Gamestop is listing Dead or Alive and Samurai Warriors for 50$.
Amazon has Metal Gear Solid 3 and Contra listed for 40$. You can tell it is a huge placeholder when the date listed for 2020.

My (Belgian) friend's stores sell it for ~$330.

Nintendo didn't set the price, they sent out the system without an MSRP.
This is NOT Nintendo we're talking about, it's random sellers.
