that doesn't work in 4 either only part I really liked on generation though was Metal Sonic vs Sonic battle. 4 series definitely feels way off from the classics though thats for sure.

Honestly, none of them fit the description of "Classic" for me, as both are only memorable for relying on the success of the classic titles.
However, I do think Generations does a better job at it.

Neither, both are nowhere near classics. If I had to choose it would be Generations, though I didn't vote because neither applies.
Sometimes it's best to just leave the classics as they are and move on. No sense breaking something that doesn't need fixing.
