Re: The Last Game
What sort of mad creatures are you all devolving into? Come now, we have technology. Actually, you'd think we'd have some sort of intelligence test to allow people on the internet by now, it would solve so many problems. Or at the very least a reading comprehension and literacy test...

Re: The Last Game
The issue with using an intelligence test is that intelligence is a subjective thing.

Re: The Last Game
Yeah, I know, but I can be a bit biased as most of the current intelligence tests favor me, which is also incredibly unfair as math and science are not the only ways to measure how smart someone is. I know incredibly smart people who would score lower on intelligence tests simply because they have poor skill in maths, yet they can understand complex thoughts and reasoning, or are advanced in areas not usually associated with smarts but should be. For example, I can do Calculus level math, but I wouldn't know the front end of my car from the back if it weren't pointed one way, yet a mechanic who struggles with Algebra could fix a major engine malfunction with ease. Why do people think that the mechanic must not be as smart then? He would know just as much as I do, just in a different subject.
Sorry, I know that didn't have much to do with anything, just something that bothers me a lot I guess...

Re: The Last Game
That's actually something that's been bothering me as well. Standardized testing is inaccurate because it's measuring only objectively quantifiable knowledge, not the entirety of a person's learning capability. It's a system that devalues a lot of potential.

Re: The Last Game
Ya'know, these observations of standardized testing and such would probably be very fitting if they went into this thread, since it actually plays a large part in that debate. It also makes more sense making large, intelligent posts in a thread like that than it does making them in a forum game thread like this.

Re: The Last Game
No reason you'd need to delete it. Just saying it'd probably be better appreciated in one of the more serious discussion forums.

Re: The Last Game
No reason to be embarrassed. You read a comment regarding something you had a lot of thoughts on and you took the effort to type them out. Nothing wrong with that.

This is the internet. As far as anyone knows, you have whatever you want to have.
