    Maybe change the normal text color to white, the background is black, white text would make it easier to read and would be less work.

    Yes. Make all text white and then make the checkered backround have black and lighter shade of blue colors. This is a Sonic fourm overall and it doesen't look like it at all.

    It is pretty dark for a forum about Sonic, especially since the series used to be such a bright little thing, but I suppose this alright.

    Yeah, I like the text light. It is pretty hard to read when the text is dark because the background is dark. I do like it better this way.
