For me, it would be landing on a single patch of spikes that could have been easily avoided, or falling into the infamous pit in Mystic Cave Zone.

Heaven knows how many times thats happened to me. Especially when I'm Super

when your about to clear the mission... and u somehow run off the edge oO that ticks me off! and or your almost cleared and you die by something >>X In Shadow The hedgehog I ran off a few edges.. especially in that one computer world when your with espio... hate when you have to go through there in Ultimate mode...
another way is destroying a box and it has ground spikes in it and you die (SBK)

Dieing during missions is something I only remember happening in Shadow the Hedgehog actually.

Yeah I belive so... well.. isnt it also in sonic and the secret rings? Found all sorts of ways to die in that game and in next generation, like my friend and I where playing multiplayer and I was shadow, he was silver, he threw me into a room with door close and the entier floor was black there was no barrier or anything, so I was just skating around. lol

There were plenty of missions in Secret Rings. I don't recall ever dieing in them though. I'd fail them easier then it took to die.

I hate it when you get to an end boss and then die, and it makes you start all the way back to the beginning again. Oh, and I hate it when there's all of a sudden a powercut, this has happened to me on a few occasions. >.<
