Darker Wii coming soon

Nintendo announced today a new black colored Wii system for the Japanese market. The system, which includes a black Wiimote and nunchuck, will ship on August 1, priced at the standard 25,000 yen going price.

It will be joined by separately available black accessories. Also set for August 1 are a black Wiimote (3,800 yen), a black Nunchuck (1,800 yen), and a black Classic Controller Pro (2,000 yen). The white Classic Controller launches on the same day. All accessories are being priced the same as their white counterparts.

That Wii looks FINE! I'll probbaly by a black Wiimote when they're available.

As nice as it looks, I like my Wii, but I wouldn't mind having one of those custom jobs they used to have in Nintendo Power.

I think a new black version would look awesome, though I dont think many people will buy a whole new Wii just to get a differencolour, they should have released other colours when the first Wii came out in stores.

Has there even been any talk about releasing a HD version of a Wii, as graphics are one of the buggest letdowns for the Wii
