Everyone complains and whines about spending $60 on a new game these days. How would you feel if you just spent $17,500 on a NES that was made back in 1990? To make matters even more disappointing, it’s not even a great game or well-known title. It may sound crazy to us, but to JJ Hendricks, it’s a deal of a lifetime.
What game could sell for such an insane amount you ask? The super-rare, gold-covered edition of Nintendo World Championships, a game made specifically for use to promote a Nintendo gaming contest. Apparently, only 26 of these cartridges were made.
The game has a playtime of six and a half minutes. You get to play short segments of Super Mario Bros., Tetris, and Rad Racer. Once you beat all three games playable segments, the game then totals your score!
That means it’s costing him $2,692.30 for each minute of play. What a bargain.
