The Sonic Tournament: The Best 2D Sonic Game of the 00s

Which game do you find is the best 2D Sonic Game of the 2000s?

You can also discuss who you chose, and why, here.

This tournament has been divided into 4 categories, as seen from the 4 topics.

After all of the rounds are completed, then one category will go up against the other.

In other words, these are the prelims. Then it'll go into semifinals, and then finals.

So that way, it would be less scrambled all around, and it's one game against the other, in the end. It'll get clearer by the end of the tournament.

It'll go by the prelims, then semi- finals, then finals.

Couldn't you at least put theses in one topic?

Again, it'd be all scrambled.

Why is there not a poll? When there is, I'll go vote Sonic Advance, because it's addictive and amazing, closer to the Genesis games than the rest.

Sonic Advance.
Even though The two other sequels are good, this one surely is the clear standout. It just feels like the original in so many ways with a modern, portable twist.

My only problem with Advance is that the levels are too short.

Sonic Rush Adventure was awesome. All are awesome as well.

I picked Sonic Rush, but my close 2nd is the game nobody has picked yet... no love for Sonic Advance 2... why?

maybe no one likes it. I personally haven't played it, so i can't make a fair assumption on it.

The only game on that list that comes close to matching Sonic Advance 1's awesomeness is Sonic Rush, and that's only because of Hideki Naganuma's amazing soundtrack.

Brawl definatly should count. i once and for all proved that sonic could run faster then lighting in that game. or, technically, the move thunder.

But it's a fighting game, not a Sonic game. It's not a Mario, Kirby, Zelda, Kid Icarus, or Metal Gear game either.

I don't know about that. After all, Super Smash Bros. is not only similar to the Mario name, but it's the only franchise that has bros. in it. So it can be a Mario game.

Because it has a bunch of other Nintendo characters it. if it was all Mario characters, but then Kirby made an appearance, then it would be a Mario game.

so what game is it then, if its not mario zelda sonic etc?
what defines a game as it is, then? ratio of a games characters to another? i think its a sonic game because it has sonic in it. its also a mario game because it has mario in it. but hey, thats just my opinion.

that actually makes since. however, i would like to make the point that in all honosty (never could spell that right) brawl is a kirby game. sub space feels almost like amazing mirror, glass case thing is obvious rip off from kirby air ride, its made by the same people who make kirby, etc. think about it.
