Now, I'm not saying they're doing badly. They're doing great with new games like Bayonetta and Phantasy Star, and the recently released Sega and All- Stars Racing, but do you think it would be better if they still made consoles again?

Should SEGA make a new console?
Think about it: When SEGA was making consoles they were doing quite well for themselves, and even rivaled Nintendo! They had great control over Sonic games when it came to their own console, as they understood it well.
Now, I'm not saying they're doing badly. They're doing great with new games like Bayonetta and Phantasy Star, and the recently released Sega and All- Stars Racing, but do you think it would be better if they still made consoles again?

Indeed. They should go back in the business. Sure, they sort-of went bankrupt in that department, but think of it as the new century! It's time for a SEGA revival!

Re: Should SEGA make a new console?
I think it would be great if they made a new console, but it would have to have something new or innoventive. i mean, the ps3 and xbox are very similar in design. the only thing different between the current consoles out are controller design, graphic capabilities, and motion sensitivity. a new sega console might be pretty bland.

As great as it could be, I don't think it will ever happen.

but if they made one you would buy it anyways. it's an undeniable truth. well, you could deny it. but then you'd be lieing. You wouldn't lie to us, would you?

Yes, but not now, and they won't for a long time.

From those arcade systems you can see,SEGA is good at hardware.
So it's just a matter of time.

It's also probably a matter of money. We should all donate a lot of money to Sega so they can build it faster. And by "we" I mean all of you 'cause I'm saving up for Heartgold and I'm poor 'cause no one ever pays me.

Re: Should SEGA make a new console?
They've been making money like crazy. They DO have the cash to fund one, but why would they now? They're doing just fine supporting all three, and with the economy like it is, people more than likely won't go buy another console, as SEGA would just be splitting sales. They need some blockbuster games to be already established, and then some new IPs to be available at launch, and they aren't even doing that now, so it'll be at least two generations past this one, maybe more.

I actually think they might be having a bit of a hard time. Apparently they made some spin-offs purely for the benefit of making money for another game. But I doubt they're having a hard time, though.
Also, they do have blockbuster titles. Bayonetta, for example. I'm especially anticipating their new title: Resonance of Fate. I seriously hoping that one will become a blockbuster game too.

Re: Should SEGA make a new console?
I think that Sega should make a new console. If my memory is any good, the original Sega Dreamcast was an excellent console. Sega would be well advised to make a successor to it.

There's been 2+665735047105.354 topics about this.
No. All of their consoles have sucked. Master System had like no games, Genesis had about 3 good games and was, from a technological standpoint, inferior to the SNES. Saturn was a flop. And the Dreamcast tried to use technology that wasn't available yet and ended up having it's power multiplied a year after it was released by the PS2 and later the Xbox/Gamecube.

I bet you that if they reworked the Dreamcast again, using all of the technology before, but revising it with the new technology now, it'd be a smash hit.

Or not I mean Sonic is pretty hated and SEGA rarely makes really good games, also I don't want to buy a new console.SonicFanPS2 wrote:wrote:There's been 2+665735047105.354 topics about this.

Not to mention that sega's gotten to the point they can't sell anything without cheaply adding sonic into the title.ProTagOnist wrote:Or not I mean Sonic is pretty hated and SEGA rarely makes really good games, also I don't want to buy a new console.SonicFanPS2 wrote:wrote:There's been 2+665735047105.354 topics about this.
