Nintendo get out of jail free card?

I was thinking after the release of Heart Gold and Soul Silver, why is no one complaining about the fact that all Nintendo has done is take a ten year old game, thats formula is repeated just as much as any EA Sports game, and remade it with an engine that saw a new game just last year. If EA even hinted at announcing that they were going to re-release FIFA 2000 using the FIFA 10 engine, everyone would be bitching about how unoriginal EA are and how they're "the worst thing about video games."

Same thing could be said of Activision, but I'm not going to defend them after what happened with IW.

Actually, Activision said that they're fine with losing members, and the number rose to 13. They're still pretty confident that they can hire more talented people though.

Also, well.......you're right on that one with Heart Gold and Soul Silver. I've played Pokemon for a long time, and the battles are getting old. Travelling about is still cool, though. And it was also made to entice new fans to join in as well, Pinata. So while we find the new one old and a bit boring, new guys will find it extraordinary and fun. It just fills that whole Person Leaving Pokemon to Person Joining Pokemon ratio.

Why I don't play Pokemon that much anymore. Battles are generally over in 3 turns. Using stat boosters it almost always useless as almost all pokemon will die in one or two well-powered hits.

It's not like they're trying to pass it off as anything else, that's just what a remake is. And it's not even just that, the entire both worlds have been redrawn from scrap, the battle system has several drastic changes, and they nearly doubled the Pokedex from what it was in the original.

Besides, Gold and Silver were great games, people wanted them to be remade.

Nintendo said they remade them because certain Johto pokemon couldn't be obtained in Ruby/Emerald/Sapphire/Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

Heartgold isn't

Pokemon: Topaz.. its a port with updated graphics..
