Free Stuff Friday

Perhaps of interest to Archie Sonic followers of old and new will be an autographed copy of the 200th domestic comic.

The issue is a part of this week’s Free Stuff Friday promotion, where Sega community teams use Twitter to give prizes to those with the fastest fingers. This particular issue is signed by longtime cover artist Patrick Spaziante, known as Spaz.

Here’s what you may not know: Sega’s been sitting on this particular piece of swag for months. Sega originally posted the cover to its Flickr account in the middle of December. It was from there we received first word that Sonic comics would see release on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Other items given away include a Super Monkey Ball T-shirt, an XL size Madworld hoodie, and a special Resonance of Fate iPod Touch. Sega of America’s community team has released a video detailing those items and what else to expect, and you can view it below. Get those Tweets ready.

I say they need to give the new technology of portable devices online subscriptions of the comic, including backorders.

They do.

If 2006 was a good year for you as a fan, you may be interested in gunning for the 15th Anniversary Sonic T-Shirt as part of tomorrow’ Free Stuff Friday giveaway, organized this week by Sega’s Americ–er, digital division.

In the video below, you can see what the clothing looks like. It is in a large size, and though there is some wear and tear, the shirt actually has never been worn, and there’s a giant “91″ on the back.

If that doesn’t suit your fancy, the team’s also giving away a Samba de Amigo Pack. The prize includes a seal copy of the game for Dreamcast, a non-peripheral maraca, and a large size T-shirt.
