    Steam won't start Empty Steam won't start

    For some reason, ever since Steam updated I get an error message that says "Fatal Error: Failed to load platform modules." This happens every single time I try to start Steam, and now I am unable to play any games.

    Has anyone else had this problem? And is there a way to fix it?

    delete the Steam you have and download it again off http://www.Steampowered.com/

    I do not want to use Steam. I will use Games for Windows-Live however. I just need a PC.

    I take it that I have to back up the games that I have already...? Or will Steam remember them and re-download them for me?
