Re: Mario Galaxy 2
My favorite part so far; Bowser; "Maybe I'll have her bake ME something for once."
lol
Excellent. They don't even spare a second thought to the notion of Princess Peach being in a kitchen, even when she's in space. Gotta love Bowser. Although you also gotta admire Peach for that. She knows her place.
Getting kidnapped: Priceless. Baking: Priceless. Not putting out for Mario every time he saves your no good cake-baking a? Worthless. For everything else, there's Mastercard.
Anyways, where I'm at so far;
Finished world 4. 67 stars. Crowned worlds 1 and 2.
I'd say the challenge factor has definitely increased. I'm not feeling this "brutal difficulty" I was promised in world 4, nor did I spend 5 hours on any of the guy at IGN, but it is still substantially difficult (and thus more fun) than Galaxy 1, even if only because the bar was so low .
Level design is better in my opinion in terms of the linear stages being better now than before. There are less free-roaming areas (hard to believe that is even possible) which is a downer. The Mario Sunshine stage is terrible and feels as though they intentionally made it that way just to go "LOOK YOU SECRETLY LIKE LINEAR STAGES ISN'T THIS OPEN STAGE BAD?"

Re: Mario Galaxy 2
I got it earlier today along with a poster. I have been playing the game for hours, and I have yet to even reach the 25 star point. The difficulty is much higher, and the galaxies that use Yoshi are extremely fun.

Re: Mario Galaxy 2
6th world cleared - 94 stars. Worlds 1-4 crowned.
128 Lives
The cloud flower is used fantastically. In fact, the cloud flower is probably my favorite addition to the game.
The rock powerup, not so much. It is used infrequently, and it feels kind of gimmicky when it is. Just my opinion, though. I could have lived without it. It doesn't detract from the game either, but it doesn't add anything overly enjoyable either. Most of the segments involving it are fairly mundane.
Been playing this all in one sitting.

Re: Mario Galaxy 2
Just beat world 6 with 106 stars (crowned worlds 1-5). I was very satisfied with the ending (You only need 71 to 'Beat' the game)
I still have 4 hours before I go too bed... hopefully I manage to get around 150 stars before I sleep.

Speaking of which, I died a total of 11 times on Galaxy 2... that's 5 and a half times more then I died in Galaxy 1.The Justice Striker wrote:Dang, Army's hardcore.

Re: Mario Galaxy 2
What are you speaking of when you say Finale? Final Boss battle with Bowser? No, it's the same as the other bowser fights, just with him doing one new move, that doesn't add much. So the Final Fight with Bowser, is the same as the last fight with bowser... so it's still pretty easy.NeoMetalSonic wrote:If what you say if true

If your talking about the last few galaxys, they are somewhat hard, you will find yourself dieing at them a few times, but the stars were still 'Given' and only 2 or so you had to work for.

Aw man, I was hoping the finale was going to be more epic in this one.... That's the only problem I had with the first MG.
