They're not necessarily leaving Sony. Just partnering with EA on their new IP. Sony has so many big name exclusives these days, they don't really need Insomniac anymore. That said, they've always been and independent developer and I knew this would happen eventually. I'll still buy their games mainly for Sony systems though.
