Fan Creations

I know we've tried this before, but I wanted to try and merge these into one board. Three of them is kind of pointless, I think, since they're not very active as it is. I figured we'd create a locked thread of websites so only moderators and admins can update it, and they can PM a staff member once they've gotten 20 posts to get it added to the thread along with a description. If that doesn't work, we can just have it so everyone can post in it.

I jut don't think it has enough activity to sustain three boards. Thoughts?

I think it should be left the way it is... writing and arts are completely different talents, thus, the groups Artists and Writers exist.
About the fan sites... you can simply lock it so that only members with 20 posts or more can make a new topic... just one thread for all fan sites will be long, boring and pointless... if the motive is to help fellow Sonic sites promote their forums, one thread is pointless since no one will be scrolling down a thread clicking on links.

Keep Fan Sites separate. There's not enough similarities between it and the rest of the fan boards.

Merge Fan Fiction and Fan Arts together. They're too similar. Also, if they're merged together, music videos will probably be allowed there.

Alternatively, you could create a Fan Music section, where TSC's musicians can post their musical talents. It might also be helpful to make a new "musicians" group if this happens.

I like the musicians idea. But I just don't think we have enough activity to keep three seperate boards together. Maybe merge Fan Fics and Fan Art together and make one Artists group?

Now that I think about it more, there isn't much need for the Fan Sites forum, TSC isn't made to promote other forums. I think the topics made shouldn't be deleted, but the forum shouldn't be on the index. It should be replaced with a central affiliation request directory, and archived applicants.

As for Fan Fiction and Arts, I'm not quite decisive on what to do with that. Each have their own amount of posts, but then again, it isn't that popular. I suppose merging them wouldn't be that bad of a change, we could make a forum rule explaining to distinguish your topics perhaps, so I'm not that opposed to it.

Remember Fan Music as well. There's a burlesque dancing thread in Fan Arts that could go into a Fan Music thread.

No. Just no. There's no profit to it; saving 119 pixels just to clump together three different things isn't worth it. Do they get a lot of activity? Maybe not, but that's not such a bad thing.
I'd say we want activity for the Sonic sections, then N&D, and then Gaming and then Other; so if merging Fan Media is supposed to increase activity there, then that counters what we want. If we want to simply make it look as though it's more active than it is, or make it not seem like a dead zone, then merging won't really do much good anyway.
No, the solution is to either:
A: Ignore it and move on with our lives.
B: Do the merging anyway, which means someone will have to go through every single topic title to alert what kind of Fan Media it is, merge all website topics together, and make the first post of the Fan Website include the addresses of every site, the names of those sites, and write the disclaimer as well.
C: Find a way to increase the activity of those boards.
