Now, I love the death out of Sonic Colors, great music, great graphics, and most importantly, great gameplay. Thing is that not a lot of people did get to enjoy Colors like I did, which is because Colors, obviously, is a Nintendo exclusive. Porting Sonic Colors to the 360 and PS3 would be like putting chocolate on a chocolate cake, why? Well, obviously, there'd be graphical enhancements, which would really do the game a lot of justice as the environments are really ruined by the Wii's jagged lines that appear when played on a nice HD TV. Now everyone, your thoughts?

Re: Sonic Colors: Port?
I haven't played Sonic Colors, myself not being the owner of a Nintendo Wii. What is the control scheme like for Colors? Does it involve a lot of Wiimote waggle or special motion-control moves?
Usually games are made specifically to capitalize on the Wii's control scheme, and I don't know if something like that would work on the 360 or PS3, short of completely remaking the game from scratch.

You waggle the remote to use a Wisp and that's it, you can use the Wiimote alone, Wiimote and nunchuck, gamecube controller, and the Classic Controller, and because of the classic controller pro you already have a somewhat PS3 feeling experience(With the controller anyway).Phantom wrote:I haven't played Sonic Colors, myself not being the owner of a Nintendo Wii. Re: Sonic Colors: Port?
I don't have a HDtv so I don't care for the graphical enhancements, if the game gets ported it is for those who don't have a Wii. I might pick up the HD port if there's actual new content worth re-buying.
Now, what would annoy me is that people who got bored of the [same] game because it was on the Wii suddenly go crazy for it because it is on the HD console. Console wars bug me because I would have to deal with Wii fanboys upset they lost an exclusive and then HD fanboys gloating and throwing around superiority. Ugh.

Re: Sonic Colors: Port?
Although I'd prefer having a whole new game entirely on the HD consoles, a Colors port would be perfectly fine by me. If there was a port, I think they should do what they did for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. By making it more remastered and feel like an entirely new game. Perhaps if they focused more on 3D platforming instead of 2.5D and added more levels and maybe even a Super Sonic final boss.

Re: Sonic Colors: Port?
NSMBWii is a new game (and like twice as good as the DS game).
I think what you want is a retelling or something. Keep the setting and story intact but new levels. By that time and resources used just make a new game really.

That is precisely what I had in mind my friend.Kuronoa wrote:NSMBWii is a new game (and like twice as good as the DS game).

I'm neutral toward the subject since I own and am perfectly content with the Wii version. If they were to do something like jmh said, I would be very much in support of it and might even have to pick up the HD version.
