What made YOU a Sonic Fan?

Well, like the title says, what force was created that made you like Sonic? Video games? Comics? The cartoons? How did they affect you? And do you still like him? And if not, why not?

I guess that by asking this question, I could also be asking you the very reason you're on this site right now.

Well, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the first game I played when I was three years old. Soon after, I began watching a few episodes of The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (I have a VHS of Sonic Breakout somewhere... as well as the complete DVD set). I think I may have become an even bigger fan when I bought Sonic Mega Collection on Gamecube in 2003. Not only did it bring back memories, but because I was only 12, it created new ones (for today, of course). So I think that the reason I love Sonic the Hedgehog so much is mostly nostalgia.

I dont know for sure. I think it was when Sonic Unleashed was released. IDK why though.

Sonic 1 was my first videogame. 11 years later, I still haven't gotten tired of it.

Wow my first game was Sonic Adventure and I just loved how Sonic looked so awesome and how he was fast and the music. I also enjoyed the gameplay. I was 5 when I played so now, I'm hard core.

When I was younger, I watched the Winx Club on 4kids. I was waiting for it to come on one morning when I saw something about Sonic X being brought back. I laugh at myself now, because I pointed my finger and burst into laughter saying, "All he does is run! That's so stupid!"

One episode on television and about 25 hours of pure Sonic X episodes online, I shake with excitement every time I am passed a rumor about the release of a new game.

I Am A Sonic Fan And That Will Never Change

I was just born this way, I guess.

Sonic Adventure pulled me in, and then I played Sonic Hereoes, and was amazed at Shadow the Hedgehog, which today is the reason I am a Sonic fan[a bit to much cussing,
but I can live with it.] Shadow the Hedgehog is my favorite character because his game was so good.

i played the first sonic the hedgehog games, and they were all awesome. even though the new ones may not make much sense, i will always remember sonic as the best 16 bit game ever.

I don't know how, but I think it started with some sort of fangame. Or that I once had a Genesis that is long broke and lost, I only had one cartridge that had a handful of games. One of the games seemed similar to Mickey Mouse on PS, and another game was Spiderman, and it had you to wallcrawl to an apartment's window. If I played Sonic on that cart remains a mystery to me.

Either way, I began liking him when I got Sonic Adventure DX on PC. Magically bypassing the Chaos 0 and Speed Highway crashes, I loved the game to death. And Sonic became my cup of tea.

I still ponder how those two crashes are triggered though.

I think I discovered it because of Ultimate Flash Sonic. I really got into it when I played Sonic Chronicles. Amy stood out to me, and is currently my favorite character. Don't ask me why; I don't really know.

Sonic Adventure 2.

I remember that the first video game I ever played was sonic the hedgehog 2 from the sonic classics cartridge for the genisis. Believe it or not I actually used to watch my dad play diablo when I was three. (I know its shocking) but Sonic is probably the main reason I got into gaming in fact if it wasn't for sonic I probably would've never gotten into playing video games. (maybe not, but I still think so.)

Sonic The Hedgehog (the original game). I remember begging my parents to let my stay over at my aunts house to play on the genesis she owned, lol.

I don't know if there ever was a key defining moment, but one day I was looking through all of my games, and I realized a significant portion of them were Sonic games, and after I gathered them all together and realized I had nearly every main console Sonic game and many spin offs and side games, I decided to embrace it and now I'm a Sonic fan.
