Hints to new Sonic games?

This was originally posted at Sonic Blast, but this place is better, so I'll post it here.

There are rumors about a third storybook installment game, a new Superstars Sonic game, and SA3 on the 3DS (could be just Sonic 3DS which was already announced)?

Of course, this is no way guarantees anything I just said, but it's worth to think and note about.

That is interesting if it turns out to be true.

So...they have no clue what Tails Adventures is. :/ But they think an SA3 would be cool. Do your research, and then we'll talk.

Special Stages for the 3DS, we already knew that.

Pretty much. All it says is they want one, but unless Sega of Mexico actually starts making games...

Yet, it is my pipe dream. All I hope is that if there is an SA3, Shadow won't be in it.

Yeah...we have a better chance of there being an SA3 than not having Shadow in it. :P

That is such a true statement. I will still get SA3 if Shadow is in it. He's actually my favorite character- I just felt that he should have stayed dead in SA2.

As for talking about new games, you are never too early to talk about them. The more we know about them, the less we'll want to talk.

The way they're discussing the ideas doesn't seem at all professional. They're just offhandedly mentioning it like they can do it an hour. "Hmmm... an awesome Sonic Adventure 3, and release it in say... Christmas?" It doesn't work like that, their teams have changed, the times have changed, the platforms have changed, and most importantly, the characters and plot have changed, you just can't suddenly go back to an old concept and make a direct sequel of it and expect it to be a big hit. Sonic 06 and Sonic 4 are proof of that.

As for Tails deserving his own game, he's had two of his own games already, and it's very debatable as to whether that idea is good one or not, really. Way I see it is, yeah, he probably does deserve his own game, but the question is has his character had enough development to deserve it, and what unique gameplay mechanics could Sega put into it to make it fun and entertaining and not another Sonic engine copy/pasted with some color and texture changes?

Oh, and even worse I just noticed that the 3 would just be a gimmick to sell it on the 3DS. You cheapos. It'll be Sonic Adventure 3DS. I dare you to make that game and see what our reactions are, Sega. You thought some games you made were pretty bad, but when you mess with our Adventure series, you're crossing lines.

Lastly, it was basically "We've had some Sega & Sonic titles before with tennis and racing, right?"

Yeah, lemme guess, another forgettable escapade of irrelevancy and character farming like every other Mario game? Hmm... dignity, what's that?

I agree with much of what you say, including the Mario comment. Yes, it does seem very unprofessional, but to think it's real that we get a successful SA3 (highly doubt it will happen, but can you imagine?) is an awesome dream come true.

You know, I'm fine with the party games, SEGA should do it. With that, it's a great way to boost characters, money, and make SEGA's old franchises have a second chance.

They'll only release Sonic Games from the Game Gear on Virtual Console for the 3DS! I'm not getting my hopes up.

I don't have a problem with party games. What I have a problem with is Sonic Team making Sonic party games IN PLACE of mainstream 3D Sonic games.

Sonic 3DS:SEGA is just trying to top super mario 3DS

It's hard to do that when he's having play dates with his mortal enemy.

I think he's talking about how they make party games based off Mario teaming up with Sonic...

Anyway... I'd be okay with SA3 and the 3DS idea. I'm not sure about another Tails game, though. I wasn't too fond of his other ones.
