This will not end well for the G-men. It'll end well for me, though, 'cause I like real-world dramar. It's like reality TV, only not fake and gay.

Re: FBI Takes Megaupload Off the Web
If you've been keeping up to date with this trail, The FBI is pretty much losing the case in Australia against MegaUpload.
The owner has been released from prison, and the evidence has been forfited by thr FBI. So Megaupload might come back online.

Think the MegaUpload thing was utter BS, but Anonymous is a joke. Oh no, they crashed websites. Slight headache. What ever will the government do?

Well, I guess it would depend on the certain people in Anonymous who take on different situations. Maybe some are softer than the others, or the other way around.Plix wrote:Think the MegaUpload thing was utter BS, but Anonymous is a joke. Oh no, they crashed websites. Slight headache. There probably are a few dangerous ones. But flooding a web site...boo hoo. That's a slight headache at its worst.

They did hack PSN didn't they? Or was that someone else?Plix wrote:There probably are a few dangerous ones. But flooding a web site...boo hoo. That's a slight headache at its worst.

Hmm, good point. I can't remember. That was a pretty big thing. If they got to important confidential information, that would a different story. But just crashing sites...who visits the RIAA site in their lifetime anyway? Or MPAA?

Re: FBI Takes Megaupload Off the Web
What enemy more fitting for bringing about the end of government moronity than Anon? The government seeks to know all and see all; Anon can not be known or seen. Eventually, if the US government keeps trying to censor and monitor the 'net, then Anon will find it trivial to summon up their true power.Plix wrote:... Anonymous is a joke. ...
And then ... well, lemme put it like this: the gods themselves would do well to fear the legions of 4chan.

You have to think though, them DDoS'ing a site for a major company, while a minor thig, is costly to them. Money and time wise. Especially if it's a major site used by many and is really active.

Re: FBI Takes Megaupload Off the Web
Yes, which is why the PSN thing is the only real troublesome thing in this thread so far. Really, who goes to the RIAA or MPAA sites on a regular basis? Yes, it's a problem, but it's like a fly buzzing around than fire ants swarming your face.
And the "government moronity" is a grave misconception. Government does some things well. And there are also a lot of people in the government that don't want them in our lives, that hate the Patriot Act, and all of the regulations, etc. Not all bad.
But, in any case, Anon and 4chan are just bugs to squash if they were really worried about them. The NSA has the capability of tracking every electronic communication in this country, and could find where every video or whatever originated from, if it was actually a priority.

Re: FBI Takes Megaupload Off the Web
To be honest, if the government really wanted to, they could destroy 'anon' easily. They probably don't see a group of pissed off teenagers that DDOS and make empty threats (Facebook November 5th thing) as a major threat.

Anonymous: The perfect way for angry teenagers to get back at the world... until their douchebaggery ways make them want credit for their work.

I don't use MegaUpload anyway, so my life is in no way affected

It's affected, just not as directly as you might assume.
