I have to agree on both of those points. Is it just me, or does it feel like they've never truly captured Sonic's character the right way in any of the shows or comics? I don't read much of the comics, but I felt Sonic was acceptable and entertaining at least in AoStH, StH and Underground. However, in Sonic X he seemed like a lazy jerk who barely did much at all.

Well, the problem for Sonic in Sonic X was just that they didn't really have a lot for him to do. Just going by memory, it seemed like he was just going with the flow, which is probably what the writers wanted. They needed a main character, and having Sonic as he was, that meant Chris had to take charge.
