cartoon includes: simpsons, family guy, tom and jerry, justice league, spongebob, your video
anime includes: japanese stuff

Yep. that's what the test is for.
Let me explain.
I have a project where I have to make a game. They told me to refrain from drawing anime-esque, so I looked up this drawing style. It's simple to draw. However I showed it to my mother and brother and they say it's close to Anime.
I don't think I need to tell you I'm shocked.
But yeah, because of that, I made this test, to let them see the responses.

Why do they don't want you to use anime-esque?

Because they want me to broaden my skills in drawing.
For all games where I did something that was related to art, it was always kind of Japanese styled.

Yes, I see their point too. But the stupid part is I'm there to learn how to be the developer. The Scripter. Not the one who draws.

I guess. To me anime is just another word for cartoon. Actually I'll call anything a cartoon if it's "drawn and shown in a series of pics to give the illusion of motion."

Now if you mean does it bear similarity to Japanese cartoons over all, it somewhat does, but yet it reminds me of Super Man and Bat Man 90's cartoons, but shading and coloring is completely different.

I don't think Spectacular Spider-Man is an Anime. If it was, Stan Lee wouldn't be the producer of the show. It is just a well animated American cartoon.

I know the point is Anime versus cartoon, but that part grabbed my attention hard.

The point I was making about thinking it's stupid how I have to move to western drawings is because it's stupid to learn a SCRIPTER of a game to be the ARTIST of the game.
