Tales of Xillia 2

Even though only like two people will really care. Today in Japan they unveiled a sequel to last year's Tales of Xillia. This game is supposed to feature choices that will change the course the game takes. The main protagonist(s) are different than the first as well.

A community manager tweeted: "Tales fans I know you are all excited for Tales of Xillia 2 but all I can tell you right now is to stay tuned!"

Personally, if this isn't closely tied in with the first game, I think I'd rather have this one localized. We'll see how it play out though.

I want to see the anime scenes.

I haven't seen those either, but they're done by ufotable again. So they should be as awesome as the ones in Xillia.

Oh boy SLIGHTLY different dialog

They said the choices will actually be relevant and influential. They confirmed different endings, the trailer shows different scenes, and I'm sure with different choices comes different dungeons and locations.

Sigh we don't even have the 1st one in english

I really liked the character designs in Xillia, so I'm anticipating seeing the rest of the party whenever they're revealed.

The Tales studio of Namco Bandai went under, so we might never see it, which really sucks.

The Tales Studio is as alive now as it has been recently. It was previously its own entity, it just got absorbed by Namco Bandai. Which should be good because it'll give them more resources. And whether it's dead or not doesn't change the possibility of a localization.

Noob question: Who, or what is Xillia?

It's the game's name. Some of the names in the series are worked into the plot, like with Tales of Vesperia. As far as I know there is nothing beyond the name besides it being a name.

Tales of Xillia was announced for localization.

"The recent success for this year's releases of Tales of the Abyss® and Tales of Graces™ f has helped make localizing Tales of Xillia for North America one of the easiest decisions we have ever made," said Carlson Choi, VP of Marketing for NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.

I'm quite glad we got a confirmation on the localization, despite the comments of the game being rushed I'm still excited for Xillia. It's also nice to hear that the "return" of the Tales series has been successful.

I'm going to assume that they'll use an instrumental version of "progress" for the main theme.

Hopefully they won't. I don't think a fan of a JRPG will care if there's a Japanese song in it. Three Legged Race and Karma are both good songs and shouldn't have been replaced with instrumentals.
