Slowly but surely, my unset form oozed up into the lowest caverns of Vexxia from the deep paths far below. This place was ... different. Warm. Alive. I longed to bask in its glory; I craved such a wondrous existence as the wizards -- nay, gods -- of Vexxia led. ... And so I set out to achieve their heights, slithering slowly up the rotten caves, sliding past the countless corrupted by their life below the splendour of the surface Vexxian world. Slowly ... an agonizing, maddeningly cautious pace toward my goal.
But when I reached the upper world, my feeble mind could not comprehend their reality, for it was only recently forged in the underworld. Mere days ago, was it forged. I tried, how I tried to live in peace with them, but I was a fool. And so, just a few days old, the formless shadow of a being that was me had angered them, had started a war against itself. The first of many.
