Are his shoes hard or soft? In some cases it looks like he can't shange the shape of his shoe at all, but in the comics it looks like they're made out of leather.

Well, i the comics they tend to make all the characters look differ so I'll go with them being hard because that's how they are in the games.

There's a reason you don't see Sally in the games but you do in the comics.
It's because the comic and the games have different continuities.
Thus that means the comic is not canon.
Or if you WANT to give the comic credit, it's not canon TO THE GAMES.

I do like the concept of his shoes and how they lead to his speed. But yeah, they'd have to be hard, otherwise it would be kind of weird, what with them being built with jet boosters.
