The whole idea is outdated and retarded. Whats really annoying is that some people think that Shadow's super form is called Hyper Shadow anyway!!

I'm not too sure on the distinction between super and hyper. I didn't start playing Sonic games until after, as you all have put it, that era ended. Could someone clarify? Or at least tell me what the heck hyper sonic was suppose to look like?

Okay, Hyper Sonic is the next level up from Super Sonic. He appeared only once in the games. By combining Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles you could get the full game, Sonic 3 & Knuckles. If you collected all seven chaos emeralds in the Sonic 3 portion, you could power them up to Super Emeralds in the S&K section, and then you could use Hyper Form. Hyper Sonic was much like Super Sonic, but he flashes the colors of the Chaos Emeralds, leaves after images, and is immune to a few of the things that will still hurt Super Sonic. He also has a double jump that instantly kills all on screen enemies except for bosses.

In the Comics, Hyper Sonic was replaced by Ultra Sonic, who remained blue but had weird powers. Knuckles only ever went Super, although it was called Hyper Knuckles because that sounded cooler. Tails had a Super form (Turbo Tails) and his Hyper form was still called Super Tails.
