Microsoft or Apple in gaming?
For gaming would you rather have an iPad or an Xbox 360? Mac or PC?

Microsoft.
Seriously, who would rather play a game on an iPad rather than an Xbox 360?

Take a look at what publishers, developers, Apple, and even the competition say. I said the iPad which is a better gaming device than the iPod.

For gaming, I would probably have the XBOX 360 (maybe the Ipad as well...)

Completely. The Xbox 360 is too much like the Dreamcast to let down.

Xbox 360 all the way. I didn't even know you could game on an iPad...
Also I would rather have a PC.

Re: Microsoft or Apple in gaming?
This comparison has no understandable logic, but obviously Xbox 360 and PC. Mac's aren't really designed for gaming, and I didn't even know there were any games on the iPad that took longer than 30 minutes to beat.

What the hell is an iPad? And why would I choose the 360 over anything?

You may hate the 360, but would you really choose this:
over a gaming console if you wanted to play games? Hell, the thing doesn't even support flash.

Re: Microsoft or Apple in gaming?
Because if you don't act biased towards it and don't let the odds of RRoD get over you it's a pretty damn good system with many good games?Erazor wrote:What the hell is an iPad? And why would I choose the 360 over anything?

Re: Microsoft or Apple in gaming?
Apple.
At the moment, the Apple eco-system is a lot more diverse.
Sure, the devices are expensive... But they're portable, sleek, a lot less laggy than PCs (Unix core ftw) and they do a heck load more than just gaming.
The games/apps are cheap and it is super easy to connect to other players. Not to mention that their online store- the iTunes store- has a lot more than just games (music, movies, tv shows.. etc.).
I understand that iOS will never replace pure gaming handhelds when it comes to the quality, but if I were to chose one or the other, I'd chose an iOS device.
Additionally, I'd like to add that tablets and smart phones are starting to catch up, hardware-wise, with pure gaming platforms. More powerful multi-cored SoC's are being developed, as well as developer engines (take a look at sonic 4! which was ported fairly successfully to iOS, android and windows phone 7).
As a developer it takes a lot less effort for me to create a game for a smart phone as oppose to a hand-held gaming console (and I would probably sell more of it too! Since the entire market is online). More people playing the same games equates to better multiplayer experiences!
