Machinima.com has begun producing a series of Sonic-themed short films. But between all the mediocrity of some recent Sonic fare and Sega’s own past misfortunes, the blue hedgehog is looking for work. The result is Sonic for Hire, which sees the blue guy trying to make money on his own within the arena of other popular games. The video below, released yesterday, is the most Sega-centric, drawing upon cult hit ToeJam & Earl. Other episodes released put Sonic in Paperboy and Punch-Out!!, as well as working for Robotnik.
The series launched earlier this month and already the episodes have been viewed by more than 400,000 people. It leans a fair bit on adult humor, but it’s humor we hope to see much more of in the coming weeks.
