Should we hae something where you can request groups to be in or ask to be in already made groups? Such as sign-ups or templates for one? And then maybe decide on leaders and such.

well you can already join usergroups by just clicking on them, an admin or group leader just has to let you in.

We discussed this before, I submitted a group charter thing to be approved by the staff.
On the subject of private boards for the group, what would you be interested in? The fan clubs or a certain character are always ideas being thrown at my door, but we already have boards for the main Sonic characters, though I don't see the point in them. I suggest making fan clubs for whoever wants one, and ousting the character boards.

I disagree with ousting the Character boards. I didn't care for the destruction of the Sonic Board Games Board topic either, but that's beside the point. I'd rather not have multiple topic flood into the Sonic Games and maybe the Cartoon/Comic boards.

I'm saying oust the public ones, and merge them into the fan clubs' private discussion boards. It'd be the same thing, except that if you didn't want to see certain boards, you wouldn't have to.

Exactly. Make the fan clubs moderated by a staff member, and they will be the sole watchdogs of that area. Everyone is welcome to join, but if anybody breaks rules, then they shoud be kicked out of the group.

Nah, still don't like it. If anyone can join, then it isn't that much of a club, and not every person who wants to talk about that character is a fan of that character.

Doesn't have to be so strict. I just like the idea of character discussion boards being pivate, it makes the forum look cluttered, IMO.

If we are a Sonic Community, our main purpose should be Sonic discussion. If members aren't even allowed to discuss Sonic characters without first joining 8 groups, then we aren't really being very "community"-oriented.
I see how separate boards for Moderators or Debaters make sense, since they have their own interests and discussions. However, everyone should be able to talk about Sonic characters on a Sonic board.

Yes, I agree, and can see both sides make plenty of sense. I just think it should be compiled a little more at least, maybe moving the character discussion into one Sonic Character forums, maybe.
