What's wrong with him?
He's a severely under defended hedgehog. Only TWO head spines?

As seen in the cutscene after his fight with Shadow, when he doesn't use his powers, he fights like a girl.

You mean the cutscene where he was extremely tired from the previous battle and was only shown making 'one' punch as well as being stopped by Chaos Control to make Shadow look better?

That is possibly my favorite cutscene in any game, ever.
Anyone know where it is on youtube? I used to know where it was but I can't find it atm.

Re: What's wrong with him?
Meh, I count the pot-leaf design with some significance, in that matter only for design. Sonic and Shadow's are shorter and in more number due to the style of action/ abilities the portray. Sonic's are swooped back for less wind resistance and quick attacks with good accuracy. Shadow's are somewhat like Sonic's allowing for little wind resistance, and quick attacks, but his have a bit more of a "style" since he utilizes weapons and vehicles more it seems. Silver's head spines are huge and few in number, probably just for looks, he can't really utilize them, and really doesn't have to due to his Psychokinesis abilities.Gamma The Great wrote:He's a severely under defended hedgehog. Silver seems to be under defended due to his motives and his(what seems like) immaturity. His voice is a bit nasally, and really serves no more plot prupose since his motives were completed within the game he debuted in.
The problem with him lies between the fanboys/girls and the fans. the fanboys/girls pay no attention to the reality of Silver's "story", and will beg him to be in a game no matter what, despite the story of said game or main focus. Fans can/may get a bit annoyed at this, and, in the spirit of the internet, will start snapping back at the fanboys/girls. It causes bouts and arguments, as with any other fans vs. fanboys/girls situation, it's pretty common in the series with another hedgehog...or two...

He pumped his fist in the air, screamed, and then charged at Shadow with no guard. With skills like that, Shadow could have taken him down with a red flag and a solid object.Crystal Chaotix 3 wrote:You mean the cutscene where he was extremely tired from the previous battle and was only shown making 'one' punch as well as being stopped by Chaos Control to make Shadow look better?

You're still referring to that 'one' punch made after a tireing battle they just got done fighting though. Until I see some actual evidence or something to controdict that then I'll happily assume Silver was doing what any out if breath, desperate guy would do in a fight.
As if anyone honestly knew a damn thing about Silver's skills.

Even when you're exhausted, you could always try attacking them before screaming, not waving your fist in the air for no reason, or at least not waving it long enough for a Falcon Punch.Crystal Chaotix 3 wrote:Silver was doing what any out if breath, desperate guy would do in a fight.

Your reasons simply aren't registering as good enough. He screamed and pumped his fist. Big deal. Basically everything in that game was screwed over and over dramatic anyway. He just had to make his debut in a game where they were completely screwing the characters up. Poor guy never had a chance with you all.

What do you mean? He's one of my favorite characters, doesn't mean I'll downplay his flaws.Crystal Chaotix 3 wrote:He just had to make his debut in a game where they were completely screwing the characters up. Poor guy never had a chance with you all.

Re: What's wrong with him?
Well, Silver is quite inexperienced in actual combat anyway. He's fought mindless monsters all his life, not actual fighters like Shadow. Likely, he believed using a strategy to intimidate his opponent would cause Shadow to lose his guard, but Shadow knew what was coming, froze time and did a boot to the head.

That's good that you don't down play his flaws. But I still haven't been presented much proof that Silver doesn't know basic combat well. A scream and a fist pump before a tired charge simply isn't enough to draw such a conclusion from.
And my meaning was exactly what I said about the people who hate Silver. That's obvious.

Re: What's wrong with him?
Shadow and Silver were both panting the same way after the fight, Shadow managed to do a 540° roundhouse kick without making a sound, Silver attacked like someone who has no idea how to fight.Crystal Chaotix 3 wrote:A scream and a fist pump before a tired charge simply isn't enough to draw such a conclusion from.

Shadow used Chaos Control to stop time and then did a roundhouse kick. It's not that hard to do when your target is barely moving and all you have to do lift your leg and push forward.
It was just one punch. It's simply not enough to draw a conclusion like this from. It sounds so silly deducing that Silver lacks all knowledge on how to fight actual combat from that one scene where he missed a single punch.
And if this was truely a "no idea how to fight situation" he probably wouldn't have even bothered continuing despite having an ambition not to lose.
Until I see some "actual" combat then there's no assuming anything.

Re: What's wrong with him?
Truthfully, Silver nearly did connect with that punch, but Shadow lucked out with CC. But I still can't say whether or not Silver would actually have actual fighting experience for a fight like they had.

Yeah. Whether or not he does or doesn't hasn't been made completely clear from what they gave us. But that was common a lot in Next-gen. I can't say whether or not he does or doesn't.
