...Or do you find it cool when you know that Sonic could have been a very different franchise had some of the concepts thrown about before the release of Sonic the Hedgehog, released in 1991, actually had been used (Which was being in a band and saving a lady named Madonna)?

Yeah. He was supposed to be in a band too, and originally he was supposed to have fangs. They dumbed the speed down because it gave Yuji Naka motion sickness.
