Yeah, it's gonna take a whole lot of tie. Many consecutive great gmes to keep all the negative Sonic "fans" quiet. But Sega needs too learn that most people want the game to have more platforming, not make it as fat as possible with all the boost pads and areas that the game controls Sonic himself. But I do think the series with be slowly begetting a less negitivity, it's just gonna be a while before it returns to being really popular, if ever.

Fat? Coming Soon! Sonic Going On A Diet!
But seriously, I read the article, and I have to say that I feel as though the SEGA representative was being a bit defensive. He said that it was a big hit with the kids, and though that's true and I have no problems with recruiting new fans, please don't disrespect and ignore your older fans who are still into your franchise, sir. It's going to take ALOT of time to rebuild the franchise and actually give it the proper fortress wall that it's been needing for some time now. The Sonic series is about platforming mainly, not about how fast you can go until you lose control, and the gameplay elements start to fade away. No. Don't forget about the platforming. This series has been going through a sea full of negativity until recently, and I have to say, the inability to use creativity and foresight for many major franchises will be something to watch because the lack of innovation is hurting franchises right now.
Think outside the box. Have some spinoff games that will count. Come up with some interesting new ideas and don't rehash ideas that are stale and have proven not to be useful in the past.

Well, why not send some email to Mr. Ratcliffe and deliver some input? It might work, it might not--who knows?
