Genesis games remade?

I was thinking if Sonic Team could make Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Knuckles in 3D. The levels would have trhe same names and appearances, as long with the same badniks. But the design would be made differently, to make it seem more lik a new game, and also to fit in 3D. Of course the levels will be moe platforming based though, not entirely spped. The zones wold run together with cutscenes, and Sonic would be the only playable character. I think it would be a nice 20th anniversary game.

if anything, they should just bring it back on wiiware or whatever it's called.

It would be interesting to see the original Sonic games recreated into a Three-Dimensional game, but I disagree with the idea of having Sonic as the only playable character. I can understand if this was done for the original Sonic the Hedgehog, but it would seem unfair to remove Tails and Knuckles as playable characters within Sonic 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

I suppose so, but that could be a lot more work.

Needs Tails, I didn't really realize how much I still like the little guy until I sat here after reading that post and thinking about what the second and third games would be like without him.

I'd love to see this happen, it'd be like a dream come true to me! Of course, there's only like 1% chance SEGA would actually do something decent like this though, because they're always too busy working on their new, crappier Sonic games (IMO) and not something GOOD like this, but hey, one can dream. The 3D Green Hill Zone in SA2 was amazing, one of my all time favourite 3D Sonic levels, if only they would remake all the old 2D Sonic games like this...

That would get real boring re releasing the same games for years.

I can't trust Sega after Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis.
