Sonic The Hedgehog 1 is the perfect sequel to Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Tails wasn't in Sonic 1.
Yet he was in Sonic 2.
And he WAS in Sonic CD (CAMEO).
But was in Sonic 3.
Yet not in Sonic & Knuckles.
Just look at that pattern.

Sonic 2 takes place before Sonic 1 in choronological order, and Sonic 3 follows, then Sonic & Knuckles, then Sonic CD, and then Sonic 1.. See where I'm going with this?

Tails was on vacation.

That doesn't make much sense though. The graphics, the function, the lack of Tails, and the continuity of the Death Egg have more support for 1-CD-2.

1. Graphics look similar to STH 1.
2. No, but it makes sense for him to be for that time period.
3. Most likely no. STH 3 seems to be a week after STH 2. He'd be spending that time fixing up the Death Egg.

1. Yes, they do. The date of expected release, the stories of what it was to be, the Spin Dash and it's inferiority compared to the later games, they all help as well.
2. How would I know? That's not the canon version. STH3&K is the canon version, since it has both stories.
3. For one, that would mean Sonic left Tails to go on vacation, which doesn't match either's attitude. For two, that means Eggman either completely took over Little Planet in like a day, since he'd be busy with the Death Egg for STH 2 and earlier. And for three, if so, the adventure would mean he'd lose track of the Death Egg and have to go look for it again.
All of the problems listed as easily resolved by putting it 1-CD-2.

The graphics relate more to STH than STH 2, STH:CD was planned to come out before STH 2, hence the teaser for Tails and the Tornado, the stories that STH:CD and STH 2 were going to be the same game, and the Spin Dash statement should speak for itself, as Spin Dash doesn't exist in 1, is not as grand as 2's in CD, and is improved in 2.
2. Because they were meant to be together, and you need them to be together in order to experience Knuckles' story.
3. Yes, but not before STH3&K. Eggman needed to be on the island, as Knuckles literally meets him there. And since Eggman needs the ME, he needs to stay and search for it. But if he was taking over Little Planet, he would have forgotten about the Death Egg, what with the possibilities it would bring. Little Planet would still take time to take over, finding safe places for his machines, building Metal Sonic and bosses, etc. Not to mention looking for the Time Stones. A lack of defenders is not the problem. It's the time it takes to do it. Giving him the month Little Planet appears every year is enough, but a week is too little of a time frame.

No, the problems aren't really fixed if you do that TFF. You still have to explain why Eggman decided to use the inferior Mecha Sonic(Silver Sonic) when Metal Sonic is clearly superior in everyway.

1. Yes, but compare the two. Spin Dash needs to be charged before release in CD. Not so in STH 2 and anon.
2. Tails never needed to. He wanted to be though.
3. No it's not? Eggman doesn't get them; that's why they are still in the Special Stages. You don't need the Time Stones to time travel. And that's why 1-2-CD doesn't work; he'd be forgetting the Death Egg on Angel Island to take over time. Like I said, he'd have to create them, travel back in time, find a place to place them and turn them on, within a short amount of time.

2. What? :Confusion: Sonic isn't ignored, and Tails doesn't want to be ignored. SADX shows us that.
3. Yes. By the ending. Not the beginning. Multitasking on two huge, very important projects is quite difficult, especially when his presence is required for both locations. Of course Sonic is not Zelda; why would you think so? While that may or may not be true for advancement, he hadn't built most of those badniks. He had his machines and the power of time travel to help with that. And really, the idea of advancement doesn't work well, considering the recent times of Eggman's inventing; but, to use that anyway, I already put my answer as to why Silver is inferior: had more time to build Metal, lost Metal and couldn't use him, and so he had only a week to make Silver.

3. He needs to be at Little Planet to fight Sonic. He needs to be on Angel Island to meet Knuckles and steal the ME should he find it. And your theory says he has to be in both places within a week. Not easy, logical, or with reason. IF the Little Planet project succeeded, the Death Egg would be useless. If the Death Egg rise was successful, the Little Planet project is useless. Mecha isn't as advanced as Metal. Metal contains a high powered engine and various technology. Mecha is more in line with Silver, so it wouldn't take as long. I messed up truthfully in that statement, counting STH 2 twice, but not in a manner that throws things too far off.

I thought you said 3 takes place a week AFTER 2 not IN the the week plus he didn'tsteal the ME in 3 just in K PLUS he wants to rule as much land and Little Planet is just a small project until the Death Egg is repaired from 2 and how is Mecha inferior than Metal? Mecha is shown to have more smarter and indepent than Metal Sonic

I overestimated. According to the manual, it was a few days later.
I never said he stole the ME in 3.
Little Planet is a big project; he'd be able to conquer the world with ease using the Little Planet and the Time Stones.
Yes, but I think Metal has better tech, like I said. Metal also has independence, and perhaps intelligence, but I'd agree Mecha may have more.
