I always preferred Toby to play as Spider-Man. I don't think this here new actor will do better.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it will suck.Zezima wrote:I always preferred Toby to play as Spider-Man. I don't think this here new actor will do better.
But hey, it still won't be as bad as the new Resident Evil movie...... I just thought of a new topic!

I'm not sure if this is a good idea, especially given Sony prevented Raimi from making Spider Man 3 the way he wanted.

A great man once said, "There is an inverse relationship between imagination and money."
Studio politics can completely derail an idea whose director had the best of intentions. The studio forced Sam Raimi to shoehorn Venom into Spider-Man 3, and there were arguments with him and the producers over the script. And when there's fighting in the studio, who loses the most? The movie itself.

I have a feeling this isn't going to go over well. I won't be so quick to judge on how the movie's gonna go because that wouldn't be logical, but watching a Spider-Man movie without Toby Maguire as Spider-Man is like watching the Rocky movies without Sly Stallone as Rocky Balboa.

I do not have high hopes for the Spidey films right now.
On the bright side, though, if it's a REALLY big flop (probably intentionally so, a la The Producers), perhaps Sony will willingly sell the Spidey film rights over to Disney. Then in maybe five years, we'll see Spider-Man enter the Marvel Movieverse.

That's pretty much the way I feel about it. God, Spiderman 3 did such a great job ruining what an epic story and franchise Spiderman was, but I still just can't see a spiderman film without the same actor, especially in such quick succession near three.
