What does Sonic mean to you?

What does the character mean to you?

To me, essentially, he embodies a certain free-spirited, effervescent charm coupled with altruism and an insatiable need for justice. His unfailing convictions and positive outlook on life made for a character that I would not hesitate to count as the friend whom I’ve never had before, a friend that I could truly believe in. This was a character that could withstand impossible odds in a battle and emerge victorious after rescuing scores of captive animals, grinning all the way. To dedicate oneself to something greater than that self is the mark of a hero, and even more so is to take the Hero's Journey and enjoy every step of the way.



To me, Sonic is a hero archetype, a knight in furry blue armor. I am very glad to have known him, even as a gamer controlling his movements on a screen. Sonic is more than pixels and polygons on a screen, the character has a certain spirit to it all.

That's exactly what I thought. That is, until I finished Sonic Heroes.

I mean, his job is to find dead people and guide them to Heaven or Hell.

What sick nutjob would take a job like that?

You'd either have to be CRAZY to take that job, or he's just THAT PLAIN AWESOME!

Heck about the fact his main weapon is a Scythe. A Scythe isn't even a real weapon! A Scythe is a gardening tool, and against a sword it wouldn't stand a chance, yet the Grim Reaper still wields it like that!

Again, either he's got to be INCREDIBLY STUPID, or he's just THAT PLAIN AWESOME!

And he rides a horse. He RIDES A HORSE to find his dead people. By now there are cars everywhere making it much easier.

Sonic's the reason why gaming even exists in my house nowadays.

To me Sonic means a hellova lot. I've been in love with him since 2004, I think about him all day and dream about him all night. <3 I just love everything about him, his looks, personality, merchandise, just EVERYTHING about Sonic I love, but mainly his looks. I like him so much I've made myself a Sonic room, where everywhere I look, Sonic's staring at me! X3

Well actually I was a Sonic fan in 1998, went off Sonic for 3 years and became a Sonic fan again in 2002, I started falling in love with him when I first watched AoStH in January 2004.
