The N64 was just awesome. I loved playing those games. I bought so many games for that console. I remember playing games for the N64 for just hours! I bought a fair share of Mario games, while also getting in some racing games and fighting games. It's still my most favorite console after all of these years.
I will say the transition period between the N64 and the Gamecube was odd, though.

the 64 also had a strong game lineup with games like star fox 64 and zelda ocarina of time and (IMO) the best controller ever made for a game console.
