Well, it goes without saying that I am very impressed that the Ohio council has found a carbon-neutral method of producing a environmentally friendly sound barrier.
However, I don't understand the point of having a sound barrier at all in the first place. Firstly, sound pollution is not that serious a matter to build a sound barrier over. Secondly, isn't it the car manufacturers' responsibility to ensure that their vehicles are more energy-efficient, so that less energy is wasted in sound dissipation? This way, the state council will not have to build sound barriers, which will cut back on visual, sound, and the overall environmental pollution which occurs during their construction.

Since I used to live near cleveland and every day had to wake up to the roaring of cars from the highway nearby. I think that this is a great addidition to the state AED before you put your opinion forth please move from your rich house on a hill and down to the suburbs where normal people live.

OK, maybe a sound wall is necessary. But I still think that the car manufacturers have an obligation to make their cars quieter, to aid the Ohio City Council's efforts.

Unless a vehicle is powered by electricity, it is quite difficult for a car to run at a quiet level of sound, especially on a highway. I must say though, this is a good idea. Not only will it reduce the carbon footprint of the city, seeing that these plants can absorb some of the emissions released by the vehicles driving by, but it is also an idea that can be used to try and reduce the noise in an area while giving a more natural feel. Perhaps something suc as this could be used in my neighborhood due to the large amount of locomotive and transport truck traffic that moves through here.

Powering the vehicle by electricity would be a very good idea of both quietening the car and reducing the overall CO2 emissions of the vehicle. Perhaps a hydrogen system (like they use in the Honda FCX Clarity) would also be a good idea to use. Also, manufacturing the main bodywork panels out of titanium would also help make the car more environmentally friendly, as titanium is a very low-density metal which is quite strong, and you would need a smaller engine to power the car to make it go as fast (although titanium is a little expensive at the moment, but with the backing of billionaires such as Lakshmi Mittal, Bill Gates etc. it could probably happen).
