Google'd it, wikipedia has this to say about it: "An eisteddfod (Welsh: [ə(i)ˈstɛðvɔd]; plural eisteddfodau [ə(i)stɛðˈvɔdaɨ]) is a Welsh festival of literature, music and performance." Well then, I guess it was a word, although a foreign one it seems.
