SEGA? No. You could argue that SOA does care, but I don't think they matter much to SOJ.

But Sonic Team has been getting more into the fanbase in the past few years.

I really hope this is just a rumor. Sonic really doesn't need to go down the same path that Spyro did (even though I did enjoy Skylanders). SEGA did so well with the recent games, so why do a reboot? I don't understand.

And why should they care about fans' opinion, when the majority of fans themselves can't agree on what makes a good Sonic game?

I would agree with 84 and SA2, most of the Sonic fans don't even know what makes a good Sonic game anymore and will mostly take anything they make.

Whether or not you count Sonic fans or just regular gamers, the game sells, no matter how good or bad it is.

The thing is, each fan has their own idea on what makes a good or bad Sonic game. So instead of "They don't know what makes a good Sonic game" it's more that they "Think they know what makes a good Sonic game and no one else does."

Yeah, that's exactly what I was trying to say.

Half of this reboot is bad, the other is OK

Well, all of it could be good or bad depending on how they handle it.

I like the expanded zones idea though.

I'm actually fine with a lot of the things listed, and I don't really mind them starting the canon all over again considering they made the current one a little messed up.

The part that worries me is the "New characters" and "Inspired by Skylander's success."

Why? Sonic is part of the furry trio it only make sense to follow one of their success

New characters doesn't necessarily equate to "bad characters." Then again, this is Sonic Team so you just don't know.

I know, but it just feels like we have enough characters as it is and adding new ones will just take away time for the current ones to get proper treatment.
